Christopher L. Mapes served as executive chairman of Lincoln Electric Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: LECO), a Cleveland-based global manufacturer of welding, cutting and joining products, from 2010 to 2024. Mapes was formerly President & CEO of Lincoln Electric until his retirement at the end of 2023. He currently serves on the board of directors for A. O. Smith, a global water technology company and manufacturer of residential and commercial water heating and water purification equipment; Nordson Corporation, a manufacturer of precision dispensing, fluid management and related technologies; and RPM International Inc., a world leader in specialty coatings.

Mapes was elected to The Timken Company board of directors in 2014. He brings to the board his experience as an executive with more than 25 years of service in global manufacturing and distribution companies. Mapes understands the challenges of global growth and the complexity of managing international operations.

Mapes serves as a member of the Timken board’s Audit and Nominating and Corporate Governance Committees.
