Timken Introduces New Spherical Roller Bearing Catalog

CANTON, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 4, 2007--The Timken Company (NYSE:TKR) today announced release of a new, 185-page catalog focused on spherical roller bearings and accessories. The Spherical Roller Bearing Catalog is designed to aid original equipment manufacturers, distributors, end-users and students in the bearing selection process.

The catalog covers the company's complete line of spherical designs ranging from 25 mm to 1,500 mm bore (0.98 to 59.06 inches) as well as spherical pillow blocks and metric spherical accessories, such as adapters and withdrawal sleeves. The company's broad offering includes brass, stamped-steel and pin-type cages.

The catalog includes a comprehensive engineering section focused on bearing and accessory selection, cage design and determination of applied loads, load ratings, shaft and housing tolerances, mounting, fitting, temperature, lubrication and seals.

An interactive version of the printed catalog is available online at www.timken.com/catalogs. Designed in an easy-to-use format, the electronic catalog is fully indexed and allows the user to search the entire contents for key words. A CD version also is available and enables users to conveniently print a specified range of pages or an entire chapter.

"This catalog is an important guide for our customers who are interested in spherical roller bearing products and accessories," said Daniel E. Muller, president of Timken's Distribution and Services business. "It will help customers understand the available options and pick the right bearing to maximize the performance of their specific systems."
