CANTON, Ohio, July 11 /PRNewswire/ -- The Timken Company today announced that its aerospace aftermarket solutions subsidiary, Bearing Inspection, Inc., has been named by Cincinnati-based GE Aircraft Engines as an approved source for the repair of bearings for the CF34-3 aircraft engine. The approval covers all main-line bearings for the CF34-3 engine, which is installed on Bombardier Challenger business jets and CRJ100/200 regional jets. Approximately 3,000 of these engines are in service today.

The GE approval specifically applies to all Level 1 and Level 2 bearing refurbishment and repair. This includes cleaning, inspection, lubrication, replacement of rolling elements, plating of components and superfinishing of bearing raceway surfaces.

All bearing repairs on the CF34-3 engine will be performed at Timken's Los Alamitos, Calif., facility, an FAA approved repair station.
