Timken to Repair Bearings for Rolls-Royce Model AE 3007 Engine

CANTON, Ohio, April 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Timken has been named by Indianapolis-based Rolls-Royce Corporation as the approved repair service provider for the Model AE 3007 jet aircraft engine. Rolls-Royce will handle all bearing repair sales, but will use the Timken Aerospace facility as a supplier to perform the repair service.

"Being selected as Rolls-Royce's first outside supplier of repair services in North America is an honor and reflects our commitment to working with customers to not only provide product, but to use our bearing expertise to bring value in related services," said J. Ron Menning, vice president - aerospace and defense. "We're working to leverage our full competencies in friction management to bring value to customers."

All North American bearing repairs on the Model AE 3007 engine will be performed at Timken's Lebanon, N.H., facility, an FAA-approved repair station. In Europe, Timken is already performing repairs for the Rolls-Royce RB211 family of engines at its facility in Wolverhampton, UK.

Rolls-Royce operates in four global markets - civil aerospace, defense aerospace, marine and energy. It is investing in technology and capability that can be exploited in each of these sectors to create a competitive range of products. Rolls-Royce employs around 35,000 people, of which 21,000 are in the UK and 8,000 in North America. Annual sales total nearly $12 billion, of which 50 percent currently comes from aftermarket services.
